For presenting Industry 4.0 solutions adapted to Colombian manufacturing, PM Tec Engineering was selected to present its business model at Héroes Fest, held on 10–11 October 2018 in Cali, Colombia. The event highlighted entrepreneurial ventures across a wide range of sectors.

At Colombiaplast-Expoempaque 2018, Miguel Garzón, PM Tec Engineering’s manufacturing director in Colombia, told Tecnología del Plástico that the selection recognised the company’s progress in implementing advanced-manufacturing initiatives in the country, which "can be applied to any industrial process to help processes become more efficient and increase productivity in our region".

PM Tec Engineering was scheduled to present its KERN IoP sensing, data acquisition, analysis and management systems at Héroes Fest. The original article described these devices as using long-range wireless transmission with high transmission power and low energy consumption for secure industrial-data connectivity.

The product demonstration in the Bogotá International Fair pavilion showed sensors synchronising data from different production points, including ambient conditions, process conditions and quality information.

PM Tec Engineering also used the fair to present its developments in mould manufacturing. The company demonstrated its capabilities in designing mould-cooling systems using laser sintering and the broad geometric design freedom offered by metal and alloy additive manufacturing.
